Independent insurance agency
Coverage that holds up when the weather turns.
We are an independent agency, which means we answer to you rather than to a single carrier. Tell us what you are protecting, and we will shop it across 20+ insurers — then stay on the file for the part that actually matters, which is the claim.
What we place
Personal and commercial lines, under one agent.
Most households and small businesses are covered by three or four separate policies that were never designed to sit next to each other. We look at the whole picture and close the gaps between them.
Auto
Liability, collision, comprehensive, uninsured motorist. Multi-vehicle and classic policies, plus the underinsured-motorist limits most drivers carry far too little of.
Home & property
Homeowners, condo, renters and landlord policies. We check replacement cost against what it would actually cost to rebuild today, which is where most policies are quietly short.
Umbrella
Liability that sits above your auto and home limits. It is usually the cheapest million dollars of protection on the whole schedule, and the one people find out about too late.
Business
Business owners policies, general liability, commercial property, professional liability and commercial auto. Certificates issued same day when a client or landlord needs one.
Workers’ compensation
Required in most states from the first employee. We handle classification codes, audits and experience modifiers, which is where premium is won or lost.
Life & health
Term and permanent life, disability income, and individual or small-group health. We will tell you plainly when term is the right answer and a more expensive product is not.
How it works
Three conversations, not three weeks.
Tell us what is at risk
Fifteen minutes on the phone, or send your current declarations pages. We need what you own, who depends on you, and what would genuinely hurt to lose.
We shop the market
We take it to the carriers on our panel and come back with real options side by side — limits, deductibles, exclusions and price, in the same table.
You choose, we service it
You pick. We bind it, keep the file, re-shop it at renewal, and take the call on the day something goes wrong. That last part is the whole job.
Why independent
A captive agent has one answer. We have a market.
An agent who works for one insurer can only ever recommend that insurer. We are appointed with several, so the recommendation follows the risk instead of the letterhead.
Insurance is one of the few things people buy every year, for decades, without ever reading. Then a tree comes down, or a driver runs a light, and the document they never read decides how the next two years go.
Our job is to have already read it. Before you sign, we walk through what the policy pays, what it explicitly will not, and the two or three endorsements that matter for how you actually live and work.
- Quotes from multiple carriers, presented side by side, with the exclusions shown rather than buried
- Re-shopped at every renewal, so loyalty is never quietly priced against you
- Replacement cost checked against current rebuild costs, not the number from four years ago
- One named agent on your file — not a queue and a ticket number
- Claim advocacy, including the parts of the process that carriers do not volunteer
They found the gap between my business policy and my auto policy before anyone had to discover it the hard way.Placeholder — replace before launch
Questions we get weekly
The things nobody explains until it is too late.
What does “independent agency” actually mean?
It means we are appointed with a number of insurance companies rather than employed by one. A captive agent can only sell you their company’s product. We can put the same risk in front of several carriers and bring back whichever one prices and covers it best. You buy the policy from the carrier; we place and service it.
Will switching carriers in the middle of a term cost me?
Usually not much. Most personal lines policies can be cancelled mid-term with a pro-rata refund of the unused premium, though some carriers apply a short-rate penalty instead. We check the cancellation provision on your specific policy before recommending a move, and we never leave a gap between the old policy ending and the new one starting.
How much liability coverage do I actually need?
State minimums are a legal floor, not a serious answer — a single hospital stay can exceed them. A common rule of thumb is to carry liability limits at least equal to your net worth, including retirement accounts and home equity, since those are what a judgment can reach. Beyond your auto and home limits, an umbrella policy is typically the cheapest way to add a further million.
Does my homeowners policy cover flood or earthquake?
Almost certainly not. Standard homeowners policies exclude flood and earthquake damage. Flood is written separately, either through the National Flood Insurance Program or a private flood carrier, and most flood policies have a thirty-day waiting period before they take effect. Earthquake is a separate policy or endorsement with its own, usually percentage-based, deductible. Both are worth pricing rather than assuming.
Why did my premium go up when I never filed a claim?
Rates are set on the pool, not only on you. Regulator-approved rate increases, rising repair and rebuild costs, catastrophe losses in your region, and changes to your credit-based insurance score or territory can all move the number while your own record stays clean. This is exactly the moment to re-shop it, which is what we do at every renewal rather than waiting to be asked.
What should I do first after an accident or a loss?
Make sure everyone is safe and get medical help if it is needed. Then document: photographs, names, and a written note of what happened while it is fresh. Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage — most policies require it — and keep the receipts. Then call us. We would rather hear about it before the carrier does, so we can tell you whether filing is actually in your interest.
No obligation
Find out what you are actually paying for.
Send us your current declarations page and we will read it back to you in plain English — what is covered, what is not, and where the number could move. If your existing policy is the better deal, we will tell you that too.
